The First 6 Rolls

Like every happy life starts from single happy thoughts.

In this post I will share with you the very first stories of how bohobaby established. The ups and downs and everything in between. First of all, just wanna make it clear. Neither Irene and I knows anything about fabric. We are very clueless about it.

Hence, I just want to shout out the BIG THANKS to each of you for helping us to grow. As per July 2020, we have 15 colors for one style, with total 3 tons of fabrics. Can't you believe that 3 tons of fabric started from only 6 rolls!

Here is the stories of the first 6 rolls.

Three years ago...

February 2017

I was 6 months pregnant with my first son, Aston. We drove together from our hometown Semarang to Solo. Altogether with my husband, Irene and his husband as well.

We started to looked around, to find the shop that sell fabric, and to find the tailor as well. As I mentioned earlier, both of us very clueless about fabric. What kind of material to choose, which color suit the best, etc. It's really a new thing for me, for us.

We went from one tailor to another tailor. Finally from Irene's dad acquaintances we met Mrs Nur. Nothing happens by chance, I truly believe that. Mrs Nur was very helpful during our "first day" of bohobaby.

When the first sample finished, it turns out that the quality of the fabric doesn't meet our expectation. It’s not soft enough. So we look for another better option.

Cut the story short, the first two style that we made are kimono and sleepsuit. I still remember the excitement when the goods coming. I roll out those kimono on the floor and did quality check all by myself. Meanwhile my one-week-old son, Aston slept in the room.

Do remember that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step. And don't despite small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the the work begin.
